Streaming responses (Server-Sent Events)

When a response is text/event-stream, as with AI APIs that stream their answers, HttpDash shows each event the moment it arrives instead of waiting for the end. It works with any method and body, so a POST to a completion endpoint just works.

  • While streaming, the response pane lists events live, with the time since the request was sent, and the Send button becomes Stop.
  • Stop keeps everything that arrived, so you can inspect a long or endless stream.
  • Afterwards, the Events view lists every event (name, data, id); click one to see its data pretty-printed and copy it. The raw stream is still in Raw, and test scripts run as usual when the stream ends.
  • Events are parsed exactly as browsers do: multi-line data, event, id, retry and comments, with any line endings.
